Peak Demand Times

Black Hills Electric Cooperative's winter peak demand times are 5-9 a.m. and 5-9 p.m. Monday through Friday from October 1 through May 31. Our summer peak demand period is Monday through Friday from 2-8 p.m from June 1 through September 30.

Weekends are off peak from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday from October 1 through May 31 and from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Monday from June 1 through September 30.

The following holidays* are off peak: New Year’s Day; Presidents’ Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Veterans’ Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day.

   *Note: A holiday is considered off-peak on the day the holiday occurs. If a holiday falls on a weekend, the nearest Friday or Monday is NOT considered off-peak, regardless of local business practices for recognizing time off.
