The Fall River County Fair will be Wednesday, August 3 through Saturday August 6 at the fairgrounds in Edgemont. On Thursday, there will be a free chuckwagon feed beginning at 5 p.m. at the fairgrounds, co-sponsored by Black Hills Electric Cooperative. Go to fallrivercountyfair.org for a complete schedule.

Come visit "The Friendliest Little Ghost Town in the Black Hills" and enjoy our delicious All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast for $8. Breakfast includes eggs, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, fruit and beverages and features homemade chokecherry syrup!

Breakfast is served daily at the Rochford Community Hall from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. Sunday, August 7, through Friday, August 12.

The Custer County Fair will be Thursday, August 11, through Sunday, August 14, at Hermosa.

Thursday's events include the Kickoff Supper at 5 p.m. sponsored by Black Hills Electric Cooperative, Bishop Beef, Pop's Grocery Shop, Belle Fourche Livestock, Philip Livestock and Farm Credit Services, followed by the Barnyard Olympics at 7 p.m. Both events at the fairgounds.

Friday's events include 4-H judging, a Bar-B-Que supper sponsored by Custer State Park and First Interstate Bank at 5 p.m., followed by the Ranch Rodeo at 7 p.m.

Saturday's events include 4-H judging, American Legion Post 303 Beers and Ears from 4-7 p.m. at the new Legion Hall on Hermosa's east side, followed by Classic Bull Riding at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

Sunday's events a pancake breakfast from 8 - 10 a.m. sponsored by Crawford Livestock Exchange, Roping Club, Black Hills Meat Co. and Nelson's Oil and Gas, the parade at 11 a.m., 2nd Annual Car Show from noon to 3 p.m., Ice Cream Crankoff, Playday and Horseshoe Tournament all at 1 p.m.

The 2nd Annual Custer County Fair Car Show will be Sunday, August 14, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Custer County Fairgrounds. There is a $5 entry fee and trophies will be awarded for each decade. The show is free and visitors can vote on their favorite car or truck. The winner will receive a trophy at the banquet Sunday evening. About The Hill City Quilt Show

The Hill City Quilt show is an annual 2-day show, Indoor-Outdoor, held at the Hill City School Gymnasium and on Main Street Hill City, SD. More than 200 quilts will be on display. This event consistently draws 1,000+ people from around the region to view the handiwork of participating quilters. Demonstrations, a trunk show, open mic and vendors make this event a "must-attend" destination for quilt lovers, visitors and local residents alike.
